Small Beginnings
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, like many individuals, my life took an unexpected turn. Balancing marriage, pursuing an undergraduate degree, and facing unemployment due to widespread shutdowns, I found myself at a crossroads.
It was then that I turned to a developing skill and passion—woodworking. In the early days, armed with just a handful of woodworking tools tucked away in a spare bedroom of our modest two-bedroom apartment, I embarked on a journey that led to the creation of GD Woodworking & Design. The catalyst? A commissioned kitchen island that marked the beginning of a challenging yet rewarding journey into the world of woodworking. Despite the challenges, fueled by determination and buoyed by the support of friends, I gradually expanded both my skillset and clientele. What started as a humble endeavor in the confines of our
tiny apartment soon turned into a dedicated workshop where the magic of making furniture unfolded. Today, at GD Woodworking & Design, I take immense pride in doing what I love most—crafting top-quality, handmade products and furniture. And without trying to pull on the heart-strings, I truly hope that each piece, infused with a blend of skill and dedication, is not merely an item in a home, but a potential family heirloom which can be cherished for generations.
